Emma works as a China Oil Market Analyst in the Market Intelligence, Analytics & Customer Experience team in Singapore.
Prior to joining the company, Emma worked at Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters) to cover Asian crude market research.

What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

I started my role in Vortexa at a time when Singapore was officially locked down, but this had little impact on my work, thanks to our efficient virtual working environment and rather flat organisation structure.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

I am “seeing” things happening all over the world from my desk.

[At Vortexa] It’s very easy to reach out to any member of the team.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

After a chat with the team and Fabio, I was convinced that this would be the right role for me.

What kind of qualities does a person need to have to succeed at Vortexa?

Preciseness and an open mind

What do you like about the culture?

It’s very easy to reach out to any member of the Vortexa team.

Who do you collaborate with?

The Research team (which I am in), the engineering teams (as we work together to improve our products) and the commercial team (as we visit clients)

What are the first three things you do on a Monday morning?

Coffee, news, slack

What energises you most about working as a China Oil Market Analyst at Vortexa?

Bringing the Chinese market the most up-to-date technology and letting the world know what’s happening in China.
